Weather Observation Competition 2018

Two groups of our Geography students, Chan Tin Yuet (5B), Ko Long Ching Natalie (5B), Cheung Tin Wing Clara (5P), Lam Hoi Tung Angie (5P), Tsui Pik Yu (5P), Leung Hoi Ying Janet (5S), Lee Wing Yan (5H) and Leung Ching Lam (5H), joined the Weather Observation Competition 2018 organized by the Ho Koon Nature Centre and the Hong Kong Observatory. The students were commended for their creative and outstanding performance. We yielded fruitful results and captured the following prizes: ‘The Most Popular Weather Photo Award’, ‘Weather Photo Merit Prize’ and ‘Weather Project Report Merit Prize’.

54th Schools Dance Festival Winners’ Performance

On 4th May 2018, 12 Folk Dance team members were invited to perform the Armenian Dance in 54th Schools Dance Festival Winners’ Performance as the team received the Honours Award and Choreography Award in Western Dance Section of the 54th Schools Dance Festival. Kochari is a traditional dance type, which is considered as the Armenian national dance. The movements in the dance are springy as the purpose of this type of dance is to copy the jumping movements of horned animals

Exchange Programme with Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School

Five of the Secondary Four girls, Ho Yan Wing, Yoni (4B), Chow Cheuk Ying, Mimi (4B), Lee Shun Yuk (4P), Li Hoi Ching (4H) and Cheng Hiu Nam (4S) participated in the Exchange Programme with the Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School. They attended classes and participated in their extra-curricular activities from 12th to 14th March, 2018.

Exchange Programme with Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School

Five of the Secondary Four girls, Tam Lok Yin, Kylie (4B), Yeung Hiu Tung (4B), Chan Sin Yan (4P),  Tang Pui Man (4P) and Ng Wing Ka (4S) participated in the Exchange Programme with Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School. They attended classes and participated in their extra-curricular activities from 5th to March, 2018.

Exchange Programme with Diocesan Girls’ School

Six of the Secondary Four girls, Chan Wai Ying (4B),Tam Lam Wan (4B), Wong Sum Yi (4B), Lee Sze Wing (4P), IP Pui Ting (4S) and Yau Yee Man (4S) participated in the Exchange Programme with the Diocesan Girls’ School. They attended classes and participated in their extra-curricular activities from 26th Feb. to, 28th Feb.,2018. They gained invaluable experience of attending classes at this elite school in Hong Kong, made new friends, learnt about their school culture while broadening their horizons. The six girls of the Diocesan Girls’ School visited Belilios Public School from 5th  to 7th  Mar, 2018.

54th Schools Dance Festival

On 3rd February 2018, 24 Folk Dance members participated in 54th Schools Dance Festival organized by Hong Kong Schools Dance Association Limited. 12 students participated in the Armenian Dance and received the Honours Award and Choreography Award in Western Dance Section. 3 students participated in the Serbian Dance and received the Honours Award. Last but not least, 24 students participated in the Bulgarian Dance and received the Highly Commended Award.

Charles Frankland Moore Award 2017

Our perfect scholar, Sze Yik Yan (6H) was awarded the “Charles Frankland Moore Award 2017” from the Hong Kong Sino-British Fellowship Trust Scholars' Association in recognition of her achieving the best performance in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination 2017.

The Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows 2017 Contests

Our String Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra and Chinese Orchestra joined the Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows 2017 organized by the Music Office, Leisure and Cultural Services Department.  Thanks to the guidance of the instructors and the hard work of the members, our String Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Chinese Orchestra received Gold Award and our Symphonic Band received Silver Award.

Christmas Lunch Performance at the Helena May

Members from our Senior Choir were invited to perform at the Helena May for Christmas Lunch. They sang a series of Christmas carols, which were well-acclaimed by the guests. After the performance, the girls had a great lunch and the chairman shared to the girls that the tradition of BPS girls singing at the Helena May is a legacy: the first appearance of BPS at the Helena May dated back to 1932 - with Cantonese opera.

Mei Ho House School Guided Tour

On 23rd November 2017, 35 S4 students participated in Mei Ho House School Guided Tour organized by the HK Youth Hostels Association (YHA). The exhibition showcases Shek Kip Mei’s public housing history through the 1950s to 1970s through a mixture of donated exhibits and first-hand anecdotes from former residents.

The 16th Singapore-Hong Kong Exchange Programme 2017

Last Summer, nine of our Secondary Two girls participated in the 16th Singapore-Hong Kong Exchange Programme 2017 organized by the Hong Kong Education Bureau and Singapore’s Ministry of Education. A total of 120 students from six Singapore secondary schools and seven Hong Kong secondary schools joined this programme.

Public Reading by Carol Ann Duffy & John Sampson

S4 to S6 Literature in English students attended the public reading of Carol Ann Duffy, the first woman Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom, to the music performed by John Sampson in the Hong Kong International Literary Festival 2017 at the Grand Hall, Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre, Centennial Campus, the University of Hong Kong.

POLICY [email protected] – Discussion Forum on Policy Address 2017 with the Chief Executive Carrie Lam

On 16th October 2017, 22 S5 students participated in POLICY [email protected] organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. Students were invited to express their views on Policy Address 2017, and discuss it with the Chief Executive Mrs. Carrie Lam. It was a great honour for our students to meet Mrs. Carrie Lam in person and express their opinion. They found the forum very meaningful and fruitful.

Thirty-four students from S.5P attended a sharing session by Ms WANG Yaping, the second Chinese female astronaut in space in the 2017 InnoTech Expo at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27th September 2017.

Visual Arts Department_ Visit to SCAD University

On 23 September 2017, ten BPS girls joined the SCAD University Spotlight Day. SCAD (HK) revitalized the historical North Kowloon Magistracy Building in Kowloon after the HK Development Bureau entrusted it to them in 2009. It is a locally accredited non-local art and design university. Students there are immersed into the real world of art and design – connecting with leading global companies and prominent industry figures, and receiving relevant career training.

Positive Lawn Concert-cum-Carnival

On 23rd September, our symphonic band visited Pat Heung Central Primary School and performed as a guest at the “Positive Lawn Concert-cum-Carnival”. Playing music next to a big green lawn, we were glad and honoured to show our music talents and bring people together. We have also learnt to better appreciate nature.

Hong Kong Oratorio Society September Concert “From Creation to Jubilation”

Our School Choir, joining forces with our partner in the Junior Mixed Choir, St. Paul’s College Treble Choir, was honored to be invited as a guest choir in the Hong Kong Oratorio Society September Concert “From Creation to Jubilation”, singing under the baton of Prof. CHAN Wing-wah and Mr. Matthew LEUNG, (St. Paul’s music teacher).

First Prefect Training

On 30th August, 2nd September and 8th September, thirty-six S4 and S5 prefects participated in the First Prefect Training of this year. During the training, students learnt about positive discipline. Several interactive activities such as team-building games were held in order to enhance their problem-solving skills.

中文辯論隊於《青匯盃》2017全港中學生辯論邀請賽勇奪季軍

我校中文辯論隊再創佳績,在「《青匯盃》2017全港中學生辯論邀請賽」中,經過多輪比賽,五甲班梁婉瑩同學、鍾穎欣同學、蕭靄琳同學及五丙班黃玳萱同學獲選為最佳辯論員。最後更勇奪季軍,其中五甲班梁婉瑩同學更獲選為季軍賽的最佳辯論員。

S1 Adjustment Programme

This 4-day programme was targeted athelping the new-coming S1 students. It enabled them to have a better understanding of their coming school life in BPS and build up asense of belonging to the school. Sisterhood was enhanced as girls from the senior levels were involved in running different programmes. Friendship also bloomed among the students. The programme was well received by the students and parents.

「夢想航天情繫中華」2017航天夏令營

本校3P班黃心怡及3B班鄧佩雯同學參加了何鴻燊航天科技人才主辦的「夢想航天情繫中華」2017航天夏令營。同學通過夏令營,感知中國航天,體驗航天科技,學習航天知識,從中加強交流,增進友誼,並獲益良多。同學們參觀了中華航天博物館、中國科學院遙感與數字地球研究所、中國資源衛星應用中心、中國空間技術研究院及中國科學技術館,近距離看到各類火箭和航天器,了解中國航天科技發展。

Weather Observation Competition 2017

A team of Geography students from S.4P, CHAN Sze-wing, NG Pui-pui, TAI Hou-man and TSUI Pik-yu, joined the Weather Observation Competition 2017 organized by Ho Koon Nature Education Centre and the Hong Kong Observatory. The students were commended for their creative and outstanding performance and wasthe first runner-up in the competition.
