10th Winter Band Festival

Our Symphonic Band participated in the 10th Winter Band Festival and achieved Gold Award in the Adjudication Performance. Apart from the Adjudication Performance, our Symphonic Band also exchanged with Punggol Secondary School Concert Band. The two bands performed their competition pieces and formed a “mega-band” to play some more music together. Towards the end of the Festival, Professor Toru Miura from Japan, one of the adjudicators of the Festival, conducted a clinic session with our girls.

2018年香港島傑出學生選舉

由香港島校長聯會、港島四區校長會及香港青年會合辦的「2018年香港島傑出學生選舉」,目的是嘉許對學校及社會有承擔和傑出貢獻的學生。經過甄選和面試,本校3P班梁暖悠獲選香港島傑出學生(初中組),6B班鄧可嘉則獲選為高中組香港分區傑出學生。

BOGF Song Parade

The Belilios Old Girls Foundation, founded in 2005, held a fundraising concert “BOGF Song Parade 2018” with the theme of Movie Melodies for the Music Fund. Our students performed with the School Choir, Opera Belilios, Belilios Chamber Orchestra, Belilios Winds and BOGA Choir. Other performers included Ms. MAK Shuk-pui, our former music teacher, Echogram, Chamber Music Society of the Yale Club of Hong Kong, BLAF String Quartet and our alumni, Ms. Petrina HO, Ms. Vanessa LI, Ms. Siu-kum LEUNG, Ms. Stephanie TANG and Ms. Denise TO. The audience had an enjoyable musical evening.

2018 Hong Kong International a cappella Contest

Unknown and Euphonix, our two a cappella teams, joined the Vocal Band category of the 2018 Hong Kong International a cappella Contest (Heats). They arranged and performed The Zedd Medley and The Greatest Showman Medley respectively, and were awarded Bronze Awards.

Talent workshop – Latte Art

In the workshop, students learn how to brew coffee and do latte art. Through learning to do latte art, students can explore their potential and gain confidence. Besides, patience and persistence of students can be trained, promoting the idea of wellness through personal development.

Belilios Winds Annual Concert 2018 – Movie Sunday

Our Symphonic Band was invited by Belilios Winds (old girls’ band) to perform in its Annual Concert at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). With lots of movie tunes performed, the performance received high praise from audience, including Mrs. Lily Tan, the former principal of BPS, and our former music teachers. Hong Kong Correctional Services Department Officers’ Annual Dinner 2018

Our Symphony Orchestra was invited by the Correctional Services Department (CSD) to perform the National Anthem and Under the Lion Rock in the Officers’ Annual Dinner 2018 at the Convention Hall of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. We thank CSD for granting our girls such a precious opportunity to perform in front of many important people, including Ms. Teresa CHENG Yeuk-wah, GBS, SC, JP, Secretary for Justice. Led by Mr. GOH Ching, our Symphony Orchestra conductor, the great performance of our girls was highly acclaimed by the audience.

Hong Kong Correctional Services Department Education Talk

Ms. Wong Wing Tung Tammy and Mr. Law Man Kwong from Hong Kong Correctional Services Department (CSD) gave our girls an education talk about the Rehabilitation Pioneer Project. The project aims at helping young people develop positive values towards life and become responsible and law-abiding citizens with a view to reducing crime. Our girls knew more about CSD’s duties in the interactive talk. Thank you CSD for preparing this meaningful talk to our girls.

Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and Speech Festival 70th Anniversary Gala

10 students from our school participated in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival & Speech Festival 70th Anniversary Gala for joint-school Choir, Symphony Orchestra and Chinese Orchestra performance. They performed with international maestros and local renowned musicians, including Dr. Brady Allred, Professor Kuan Nai Chung, Professor Neil Varon, Chau Chin Tung and Sophia Woo. Their performance was highly acclaimed by the audience.

S1 Adjustment Programme

This five-day programme targeted at helping the new S1 students. It enabled them to have a better understanding of their coming school life in BPS and build up a sense of belonging. Sisterhood was enhanced as girls from the senior levels were involved in running different activities. Friendship and teamwork spirit were also promoted among the students.

Young Ambassador for Geoconservation Training Programme

A group of Geography students, CHEUNG Tin-wing Clara (5P), LAM Hoi-tung Angie (5P) and CHAN Tin-yuet (5B) took part in the Young Ambassador for Geoconservation Training Programme organized by the NWS Holdings Limited. They had outstanding performance in the training sessions and the field study in Guizhou and were awarded the Silver Prize.
